  • 1 small head of cabbage (shredded)
  • 2 large carrots (shredded)
  • 1 small onion (finely sliced)

  • 3/4 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 1/2 tsp salt (or more to taste)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

How to Make Curtido - Salvadorian Slaw

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Curtido - Salvadorian Slaw in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. While waiting, whisk together all of the dressing ingredients.
  • Step 2
  • Once the pot of water has come to a boil, turn the heat off and add the cabbage. Allow the cabbage to wilt, no more than 1 minute. Drain.
  • Step 3
  • Add the carrots, onion and wilted cabbage to a large tupperware and add the dressing. Mix well and refrigerate.
