  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 ground nutmeg
  • 1 9" pie crust

How to Make Custard Pie

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Custard Pie in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cover pie crust with tin foil and bake in a 450°F oven for 8 minutes. then remove foil and reduce oven to 350 and bake pie shell for 4-5 minutes longer till firm and set.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, for filling. In a mixing bowl beat eggs slightly, stir in sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually add milk and mix well.
  • Step 3
  • Place the partially baked pie crust on the oven rack. Carefully pour filling into the crust. Sprinkling with the ground nutmeg.
  • Step 4
  • To prevent over browning, cover edge of pie with foil. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil. Bake for 15-20 minutes longer or until knife in center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
  • Cool on wire rack for 1 n 2 hours. Refrigerate, covered, within 2 hours.
