  • 3 Egg (medium)
  • 300 grams Tofu (silken)
  • 3 tbsp Mirin
  • 3 tbsp Mentsuyu (2x concentrate)
  • 1 Grated daikon radish

How to Make Dashi Japanese-style Omelet

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Dashi Japanese-style Omelet in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cover the bottom of a heatproof dish with plastic wrap so that no air can get through. ※ This is to prevent the egg mixture from sticking to the container.
  • Step 2
  • Put the tofu in a bowl and whip with a whisk until it's the consistency of cream. Add the eggs when the tofu is smooth.
  • Step 3
  • Add the mirin and mentsuyu to the bowl in Step 2. Mix it well.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the egg mixture from Step 3 into the lined dish from Step 1, and wrap it in plastic wrap. Microwave for 8-10 minutes at 600 W.
  • Step 5
  • Take the wrap off and let cool down a bit. Slice into pieces and serve with grated daikon radish.
  • Step 6
  • I also tried making it in a Lekué silicone container. It's even easier because you don't have to wrap it in plastic wrap!
