  • 2 cup raw almonds
  • 2 cup raw pecans
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanut oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce
  • 3 dash hot sauce
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp jalapeno powder
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke, optional if you want extra smoky
  • 1 hickory wood chips, soaked in water

How to Make Dee's Nutz

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Dee's Nutz in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • TIP : I don't use a commercial jalapeno spice mix. I use pure jalapeno powder. If you have trouble finding it, here is a recipe for making your own.
  • Step 2
  • Combine all the ingredients except the nuts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds or until butter is melted. Stir to combine.
  • Step 3
  • In a separate bowl, add the nuts and the pour the butter mixture over top the nuts. Stir to coat the nuts completely.
  • Step 4
  • Bring your smoker up to 250°F per the manufactures instructions and add some hickory wood chips.
  • Step 5
  • Place the coated almonds and pecans on a small baking sheet and pop in the smoker for 30-40 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, remove the nuts from the smoker and give them a stir.
  • Step 6
  • Remove from the smoker and let cool for 10 minutes. Add additional salt if needed. Serve to your BBQ guests.
