  • 1 9" deep pie crust, I make homemade but also will use store bought frozen pie crust
  • 2 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 4 oz bakers chocolate, unsweetened
  • 2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 tsp instant espresso
  • 1 pinch salt

How to Make Deep Dish Chocolate Pecan Pie

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Deep Dish Chocolate Pecan Pie in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large bowl, add all ingredients except chocolate. Mix on a medium speed for 2 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • In a double boiler, melt the chocolate squares. Let cool just a few minutes so it doesn't seize. Add into mixture and mix 1 minute.
  • Step 3
  • Fold in the pecans.
  • Step 4
  • Fill pie crust. I do not pre bake the store bought crusts. Even when frozen.
  • Step 5
  • In a preheated 350°F. Oven, place pie on baking tray and bake 50-60 minutes. Middle of pie will still be a bit jiggly.
  • Step 6
  • Let cool 60 minutes before serving. This goes great with a vanilla bean ice cream or fresh whipped cream, or both!
