  • 200 grams Thinly sliced beef (for sukiyaki)
  • 1 block Grilled tofu
  • 1 Green onion or scallion
  • 1 small bag Enoki mushrooms
  • 200 ml Japanese dashi stock
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Sake
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce

How to Make Delicious Nikudofu (Simmered Meat and Tofu)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Delicious Nikudofu (Simmered Meat and Tofu) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut the beef and tofu into bite-sized pieces, and cut the green onion diagonally into slices. Cut the roots off the enoki mushrooms, and separate them into pieces.
  • Step 2
  • Add the dashi stock, sugar, sake, and soy sauce into a shallow pot such as frying pan, then bring to a boil. Spread out the beef in the pan and simmer. Place the tofu at the bottom of the pan, and put the beef on top. Cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Add the green onion, and enoki mushrooms, and simmer for another 3-4 minutes, then done. Please sprinkle with shichimi spice if you like, and enjoy.
