Ingredients: Delicious Oyster Rice

  • 200 grams Oysters
  • 3 tbsp ●Sake
  • 1 tbsp ●Soy sauce
  • 360 ml Uncooked white rice
  • 1 thumb-sized Ginger (julienned)
  • 1 Green onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Water
  • 1 tsp Japanese dashi granules
  • 1 tbsp ◎Sake
  • 2 tsp ◎Mirin
  • 1 tsp ◎Soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ◎Salt

How to Make Delicious Oyster Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Delicious Oyster Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Lightly wash the rice and place into the rice cooker bowl. Julienne the ginger and finely chop the green onion.
  • Step 2
  • Wash the oysters well in salted water. Drain.
  • Step 3
  • Place the ● ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil. Add the oysters and half of the ginger. When it comes to a boil again, turn the heat to medium and simmer for 3 minutes (until the oysters plump up).
  • Step 4
  • Separate the liquid from the oysters. The ginger will be cooked together with the rice.
  • Step 5
  • Add the liquid from Step 4 into the rice cooker bowl from Step 1. Add the Japanese dashi granules and the ◎ ingredients and combine. Fill with water until it reaches the 2 cup line, and then cook.
  • Step 6
  • Once it has cooked, add the oysters and the rest of the ginger. Let steam for 10 minutes.
  • Step 7
  • Serve in a dish and garnish with the green onion.
  • Step 8
  • Basic Dashi Stock. This takes some time to make but using real dashi stock makes the rice taste even better.
