  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 5 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cup dill pickle juice ( from the pickle jar)
  • 2 tsp dried dill weed, crushed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or whipping cream or milk
  • 1 salt and white pepper to taste
  • 1 large dill pickle, cut Julienne

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make Dill Pickle Soup in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • in a large soup or stcl pot, over medium heat melt butter
  • Step 2
  • add onion and cook until soft.
  • Step 3
  • add wine and continue to cook until almost all liquid evaporates.
  • Step 4
  • reduce heat to low and whisk in flour ( do not let it brown) until it os combined.
  • Step 5
  • add water and pickle juice, whisking or stirrring into the flour mixture.
  • Step 6
  • bring just to a slow boil, stirring constantly, until soup slightly thickens.
  • Step 7
  • add dill weed.
  • Step 8
  • stir in cream, season with salt n white pepper.
  • Step 9
  • remove from heat.
  • Step 10
  • serve in bowl and garnish with Julienne dill pickles
