  • 6 shallots
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 thumb-size piece Belacan, toasted
  • 2 tsp dried small shrimp, fried/roasted
  • 5 red chillis
  • 1 cayenne peppers
  • 1 tomatoes, cut lengthwise
  • 1 lime, use the juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
  • Oil for frying

    Step 1
  • Saute shallot, garlic, tomato, red chili and cayenne pepper until all wilted.
  • Step 2
  • Remove and add Belacan and sugar, then mash/grind until smooth half.

  • Add fried shrimp and salt, adjust the taste.

  • Stir until well blended, and add the lemon juice.
