Ingredients: Easter Chowder

  • 3 cup Leftover mashed potatoes
  • 3 cup Ham stock (boiled down from bone and drippings)
  • 1 can Creamed corn
  • 1 cup Milk or cream
  • 3 cup Frozen or canned corn (drained)
  • 1 lb chopped leftover ham
  • 1/2 each Onion, diced
  • as needed Seasonings to taste. Start with no salt as ham is salty.

How to Make Easter Chowder

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Easter Chowder in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Saute the onion in a little butter or oil until tender.
  • Step 2
  • Combine all remaining ingredients in a pot.Stir well to combine and heat over medium to medium low heat. Stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
  • Once chowder is heated through, taste and add seasoning to your liking. I added some garlic powder, onion powder, parsley & white pepper to mine.
  • Step 4
  • This could easily be put in a slow cooker and left on low all day as well.
