  • 1/4 Winter melon
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chicken stock granules
  • 1 Water (to cover winter melon)
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon~ Shiro-dashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or Dashi-jyoyu (stock and soy sauce mixture)
  • 1 Chopped green onion

    Step 1
  • Peel and deseed the winter melon. Cut into quarters and slice the quarters into 1 cm cubes.
  • Step 2
  • Put the winter melon, chicken stock granules and water in a small pot and let it come to a boil (lower to low heat upon boiling)
  • Step 3
  • Turn off the heat when the winter melon softens, add Shirodashi (white soy sauce soup stock) or dashi soy sauce and let it come to a boil.
  • Step 4
  • Plate and top with some chopped green onions.
