  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 chillies, I used dried chillies
  • 1 chorizo sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tsp hot or smoked paprika
  • 3 chicken breasts, cut in chunks
  • 2 sausages, sliced
  • 1 salt, to taste
  • 600 ml chicken stock
  • 150 grams Prawns
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or coriander
  • 1 cup rice

How to Make Easy Chicken Paella

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Easy Chicken Paella in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Brown the chicken in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. About 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Remove chicken when done, using the same pan, add the final tablespoon of olive oil, sausages and chorizo. Reduce heat, Careful not to burn the chorizo. About 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • When the chorizo is nice and crispy add the onion and softened. About 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 4
  • Add the garlic, chillies and paprika and a pinch of salt. Fry for a further 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Add the chicken back to the pan with half of the stock. Simmer for 20-25 minutes on low heat.
  • Step 6
  • Add the rice to the pan and remainder of stock and seal with lid. Simmer for a further 30 minutes on a low heat or until the liquid has all been absorbed. And rice is cooked. Stir occasionally.
  • Step 7
  • Add the prawns 10 minutes after the rice and simmer for the remainder of the 30 minutes.
  • Step 8
  • Check seasoning and let the paella rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Step 9
  • When its cooked, sprinkle some chopped parsley or coriander over the rice.
