Ingredients: Easy Shallow-Fried Tofu with Mentsuyu

  • 1 block Tofu (firm or silken)
  • 1 Katakuriko
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 100 ml Mentsuyu (concentrate)
  • 400 ml Water
  • 1 Green onion (thinly sliced)

How to Make Easy Shallow-Fried Tofu with Mentsuyu

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Easy Shallow-Fried Tofu with Mentsuyu in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Drain the tofu and cut into 4 portions. Add the mentsuyu and water to a pot, and turn on the heat.
  • Step 2
  • Coat the tofu with katakuriko.
  • Step 3
  • Add the oil to a frying pan, and shallow-fry the Step 2 tofu until it becomes golden brown (flip the tofu pieces halfway through). You just need to fry both sides.
  • Step 4
  • Place the tofu into a serving bowl, pour in the Step 1 mentsuyu, and sprinkle with green onion on top.
  • Step 5
  • This is a different version using eggplants. I added shallow-fried eggplants as well.
  • Step 6
  • This is another version with eggplants and green peppers.
