  • Cookie Dough
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose unbleached flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp table salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Cookie Dough Topping
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sigar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

How to Make EZ Snickerdoodles

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make EZ Snickerdoodles in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat sugar,butter and shortening on high speed for two minutes until creamed. Add egg and vanilla, beat until fully incorporated.
  • Step 3
  • Add flour mixture to egg/sugar mixture and blend on low until just combined.
  • Step 4
  • Refrigerate dough for 30-40 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Step 6
  • Combine sugar/cinnamon in a shallow bowl for dough coating.
  • Step 7
  • Shape dough into 1" balls, roll dough balls in sugar/cinnamon until completely covered. Arrange dough balls 2" apart on parchment lined cookie sheet.
  • Step 8
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until centers of cookies are set and cracks form in the cookie.
