  • 1 cup chickpeas
  • 1/2 large red onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried red pepper flakes
  • 4 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp flour (can use up to 6 tbsp)
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 chopped tomato for garnish
  • 1 diced onion for garnish
  • 1 diced green pepper for garnish
  • Tahini sauce
  • Pita bread
  • Dill dip
  • Feta cheese

How to Make Falafal

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Falafal in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Individually process in a food processor: chickpeas, cilantro, onion, and garlic
  • Step 2
  • Mix together in bowl
  • Step 3
  • Add salt, red pepper flakes, cumin, and baking powder
  • Step 4
  • Add flour until you can form dough balls
  • Step 5
  • Place falafal balls on flat cookie sheet and brush with vegetable oil
  • Step 6
  • Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through
