  • 2 pitta breads
  • dressing
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 salt and black pepper
  • optional extras
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 3 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup chopped black olives

How to Make Fattoush (Pitta Bread Salad)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make Fattoush (Pitta Bread Salad) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oven to 200 C
  • Step 2
  • Split the pittas and place them on a baking sheet
  • Step 3
  • Cook for 8 -10 minutes, turning over halfway through, until crispy and a little browned

  • Put lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onion and tomatoes into a large salad bowl

  • Pour over the dressing and toss well
  • Step 10
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavours develop (I make hubby's the night before and he takes it to work the next day)
