Ingredients: Flapjacks

  • 175 grams butter
  • 175 grams demerara sugar
  • 100 grams golden syrup
  • 75 grams plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 250 grams oats
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 100 grams raisins
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp boiling water

How to Make Flapjacks

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Flapjacks in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat fan oven to 170c
  • Step 2
  • Line flat baking tray with parchment paper
  • Step 3
  • Add the butter, sugar and syrup into a pan and heat until the sugar is melted
  • Step 4
  • Remove from heat and add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, oats, cinnamon powder and raisins. Add the beaten egg and boiling water and mix well
  • Step 5
  • Dampen hands and make into flattened balls placing on the baking tray allowing plenty of room for expanding
  • Step 6
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and still soft
