  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil (I use refined sesame oil)

    Step 1
  • Take the bread crusts that you've saved up out of the freezer, and shred off bite-sized pieces into a bowl. (Do this while they are still frozen.)
  • Step 2
  • Add the beet sugar, kudzu powder, vanilla bean, and soy milk, in that order, and dissolve the kudzu powder.
  • Step 3
  • Coat a frying pan with oil, pour in the batter, cover with a lid. After the underside is cooked, flip it over, and cook for an additional 5 minutes without the lid, and it's done. These are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making them really tasty.
  • Step 4

  • Step 5
  • You can also mix all of the ingredients except for the oil directly in the frying pan, cover with a lid, and steam-cook it. That also makes a crispy, fluffy, and delicious French toast.
  • Step 6
  • Mixing raisins into the dough helps you cut calories, since you won't need maple syrup to sweeten, and they also increase the nutritional value.
