  • 3 1/2 tbsp finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 cup molasses (mild flavor, if prefer)
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 large eggs

How to Make Fresh Ginger Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Fresh Ginger Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter the bottom and sides of 9-inch spring form pan and line bottom with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
  • Finely chop the ginger into a paste, set aside.
  • Step 3
  • In large bowl mix molasses, sugar and oil.
  • Step 4
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper.
  • Step 5
  • In small saucepan, bring the water to a boil, then stir in baking soda. Whisk the hot water into the molasses mixture and then add ginger.
  • Step 6
  • Gradually add the flour mixture into the bowl, whisking to combine.
  • Step 7
  • Add eggs and whisk thoroughly.
  • Step 8
