  • 1 wheel of brie, rind removed, cut in wedges
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1 vegetable oil for frying

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Fried brie wedges in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Lightly beat egg and water
  • Step 2
  • Mix dry ingredients separately
  • Step 3
  • Dredge brie wedges in egg mix, then breadcrumb mix until fully coated in dry mix
  • Step 4
  • Put wedges on plate, refrigerate about 30 minutes to harden brie to prevent over melting during frying
  • Step 5
  • Heat veg oil (about 1 1/2" worth) in a large pan or wok. Heat oil until it reaches 375°F.
  • Step 6
  • Gently place brie wedges in hot oil (being careful not to overload pan). Fry wedges for one minute, flip, and fry another minute. Be careful not to fry too long as coating will burn and cheese will melt out of coating. Remove wedges and place on paper towel to dry.
  • Step 7
  • Serve warm. Goes great with cranberry apple chutney or olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Enjoy!
