  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped

  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 idlis

How to Make Fried Idlies in Tomato curry

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Fried Idlies in Tomato curry in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and cumin seeds. After they splutter, add curry leaves and add the chopped garlic. Sauté for 2 mins.

  • Add the chopped green chillies and the onion. Add a pinch of salt and sauté well.

  • Once the onions turn golden, add the chopped tomatoes along with a pinch of salt, turmeric powder, curry powder, red chilli powder and a splash of water.

  • Cook the tomatoes well till the oil separates. Add the cilantro and stir well.
  • Step 5
  • Dice the idlis into cubes and add to the pan. Stir well over medium low flame and cook for 3 mins. Serve hot.
