  • 3 large yellow squash, sliced 1/2 inch circles
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal (not cornmeal mix)
  • 1 Salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, paprika
  • 2 Eggs, beaten with a splash of water

How to Make Fried Summer Squash

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Fried Summer Squash in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Combine flour, cornmeal and seasonings in one dish and the beaten eggs and splash of water in another dish.
  • Step 2
  • Heat a large skillet with about a half inch of oil in it on medium heat.
  • Step 3
  • Dredge the squash first in the flour then into the egg then back into the flour. Shake off excess and fry in single layer. Fry for a few minutes on one side then the other until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with extra salt.
