Ingredients: Garides (Prawns) saganaki

  • 400 grams fresh,peeled,uncooked king prawns
  • 1 large onion, peeled and cubed
  • 3 clove garlic, peeled and finely sliced
  • 1 cup pomodoro tomatos (cubed from can)
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup Chardonnay (white wine)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed chillies
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 250 grams greek goat feta cheese

How to Make Garides (Prawns) saganaki

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Garides (Prawns) saganaki in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat the olive oil in a pan. Sauté the onions, then add the garlic, tomatos, tomato paste, all the spices snd the white wine. Let all ingredients simmer for 15 minutes until a nice, thick sauce is formed.
  • Step 2
  • Add the prawns and cook for another 3 minutes. After you remove the pan from heat and while the contents are hot, crumble the feta cheese in and stir well.
  • Step 3
  • Serve immediately with saffroned basmati!
