  • 75 grams Butter
  • Filling
  • 180 grams Nuts (finely chopped)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 105 grams Sugar
  • 90 grams Mixed Peel

How to Make Gefülte Lebkuchen

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 13 steps you must follow to make Gefülte Lebkuchen in your home by yourself.

  • Boil up honey, sugar & spices

  • Cool and when cool enough, add melted butter, beaten eggs

  • Add bicarb mixed with a little cold water

  • Step 9
  • Press down a little and prick with a fork
  • Step 10
  • Bake at 180° for 25 minutes
  • Step 11
  • When cold, cut into squares.
  • Step 12
  • Coat all over like a petit four if you can with glace chocolate icing.
  • Step 13
  • Roll in nuts to finish
