  • 250 grams whole wheat flour
  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 packages instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 350 ml water

How to Make German bread

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make German bread in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix all ingredients together and knead them well in a bowl - add more flour if needed
  • Step 2
  • Cover the bowl and let it rest for around an hour or till the dough doubles it's size
  • Step 3
  • Prepare a bread pan (9x5 inches) with grease or butter and put the dough in. Let it rest for anouther 20-30 minutes (covered)
  • Step 4
  • Cover the dough slightly with water and flour
  • Step 5
  • Put into the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes at 430ºF
