  • 4 medium Potatoes
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 20 grams Butter
  • 1/2 tbsp Grainy mustard
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 dash Black pepper
  • 1 pinch Salt

How to Make German Potato Omelette

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make German Potato Omelette in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Wash the potatoes, wrap them individually in plastic wrap and microwave.
  • Step 2
  • Microwave the potatoes for 3 to 5 minutes at 500w. Turn them over once, and microwave for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Take them out when they're soft.
  • Step 3
  • Peel the potatoes while they're still hot (with your hands) and cut them up into bite sized pieces. Put a lot of diagonal cuts into the sausages.
  • Step 4
  • Heat up the frying pan and melt the butter. Add the finely chopped garlic and saute over medium heat until fragrant.
  • Step 5
  • Start by sauteeing the sausages. When they're cooked, add the potatoes and continue cooking.
  • Step 6
  • Add the grainy mustard and lemon juice and mix through.
  • Step 7
  • Season with black pepper and salt. The German potato is done.
  • Step 8
  • In another frying pan (a 20 cm diameter one is recommended) transfer 1 portion of German potato, and pour in 2 beaten eggs.
  • Step 9
  • Cook over medium or low-medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes. When the egg is cooked it's done.
  • Step 10
  • Repeat steps 8 and 9 to make the other omelette. 2 servings done! It's really hearty.
