Ingredients: Ghanaian Jollof Rice

  • 2 large Onions
  • 25 grams Tomato Puree
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 200 grams Frozen Mixed Vegetables
  • 400 grams Beef
  • 5 cup Rice
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 1 stock Cube
  • 1 medium Ginger
  • 410 grams Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

How to Make Ghanaian Jollof Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Ghanaian Jollof Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut meat into medium square pieces
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil and add meat, fry until brown or well cooked.
  • Step 3
  • Add onions and stir until caramelised; add tomato puree and stir intil mixed thoroughly
  • Step 4
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and stock. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring to avoid burn
  • Step 5
  • Now add your crushed garlic, ginger , vegetables and salt. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes .
  • Step 6
  • Rinse rice and add to source on the hob. Stirring as u add. Add enough rice until an almost dry consistency, then add enough water just to cover the rice, but not swamp it!
  • Step 7
  • Cook on low heat, stirring every now and again to avoid burning and to distribute heat.
  • Step 8
  • Food is cooked when all the source is absorbed and near dry. Rice should feel very soft . Serve with your favorite salads.
