Ingredients: Gingerbread

  • 150 g self-raising flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 50 g butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 30 ml milk

How to Make Gingerbread

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Gingerbread in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Pre heat the oven to 160°C/ 320°F or gas mark 3
  • Step 2
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  • Step 3
  • Place the flour, salt and ginger in a bowl
  • Step 4
  • Place sugar, butter and syrup in a pan and melt on a low heat until everything is dissolved. Then pour into the bowl with the flour in it and mix well
  • Step 5
  • Add the milk and form into a dough. Knead lightly with hands
  • Step 6
  • Roll out and cut out shapes and place on a baking tray
  • Step 7
  • Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes
  • Step 8
  • Allow to cool on the baking parchment paper
  • Step 9
  • Decorate if doing so
