  • 200 grams Lotus root
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Mirin
  • 2 tbsp Sake
  • 1 tbsp Grated ginger
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 Water with a small amount of vinegar

How to Make Gingered Lotus Root

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Gingered Lotus Root in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Peel the skin, cut into 1 cm thick round slices, and soak in water with a small amount of vinegar.
  • Step 2
  • Heat a frying pan, and pour in the sesame oil. Wipe off the excess water off the Step 1 lotus root with paper towels, and add to the pan.
  • Step 3
  • When the both sides are browned, add the mixture of soy sauce, mirin, sake, and grated ginger.
  • Step 4
  • Cover with a lid, and steam-fry for a little while.
  • Step 5
  • Simmer and coat the lotus root with the sauce, and done.
