  • 2 head cabbage
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 chopped red pepper
  • grated onion
  • 1 green olives (garnish)

How to Make Grandma's Cole Slaw

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Grandma's Cole Slaw in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut cabbage into quarters.
  • Step 2
  • Take the quartered cabbage and shred it using a grater.
  • Step 3
  • Put shredded cabbage into a mixing bowl with chopped pepper.
  • Step 4
  • In a measuring cup, add 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup of sugar. Mix together well then taste it.
  • Step 5
  • Pour vinegar and sugar mixture onto cabbage. Mix together. Repeat step 4.
  • Step 6
  • Grate some onion to taste.
  • Step 7
  • Mix in 2 1/2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with the cabbage.
  • Step 8
  • (Optional) Add black pepper to taste and halved green olives for garnish.
  • Step 9
  • Let refrigerate over night.
