Ingredients: Green Chili Rice

  • 3/4 lb block Monterey Jack cheese
  • 3 cup sour cream
  • 2 4oz cans chopped green chilies, drained
  • 3 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 salt to taste
  • 1 pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

How to Make Green Chili Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Green Chili Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut monterey jack cheese into strips, each about 2" long and 3/4" wide.
  • Step 2
  • In a small bowl, combine sour cream and chilies.
  • Step 3
  • Season rice with salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
  • Layer one-third of the rice, half the sour cream mixture, and half the cheese strips into a greased casserole dish. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of rice on top.
  • Step 5
  • Bake, covered, at 350° for 25 minutes. Remove cover and top dish with grated cheddar cheese. Bake an additional 10 minutes, uncovered.
  • Step 6
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
