  • 1/4 cup Packed brown sugar
  • 2 Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped plus 1/4 cup adobo sauce
  • 6 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 lb Uncooked large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 Cilantro cream sauce ingredients
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1/3 cup Minced fresh cilantro
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 tsp Grated lime peel
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Minced fresh mint

How to Make Grilled Chipotle Shrimp

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Grilled Chipotle Shrimp in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a small sauce pan bring the brown sugar and chipotle, adobo sauce, garlic, water, lime juice, oil and salt to a boil. Reduce heat; cook and stir for two min longer. Remove from heat and cool completely.
  • Step 2
  • Transfer mixture to a large resealable plastic bag. Add the shrimp; seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for up to 2 hours.
  • Step 3
  • Meanwhile, combine the cream sauce ingredients; chill until serving.
  • Step 4
  • Drain and discard marinade. Tread shrimp onto a metal or soaked wood skewer. Using long handle tongs, moisten paper towel with oil and lightly coat the grill rack.
  • Step 5
  • Grill shrimp, over medium heat or broil 4 in from the heat for 6 to 8 min or until shrimp turns pink, turning once serve with sauce.
