  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add water, in proportion to a pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add butter, garlic salt and grits. Turn heat down to medium. Whisk gently so the grits don't stick.

  • When the grits are almost done (still retaining some firmness when tasted), remove from heat.

  • Coat muffin tin with non stick spray to keep the muffins from sticking.
  • Step 6
  • Using a ladle, fill each muffin tin with the grits mixture. They will not overflow when baking.
  • Step 7
  • Bake for approximately 15- 20 minutes or until firm.
  • Step 8
  • Garnish with shredded cheese of choice.
