  • 1 crusty baguette
  • 4 chicken thighs, skinless and boneless
  • 2 slice bacon, smoked
  • 2 stick celery
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 packages green beans
  • 1 packages kabanos sausages
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 300 ml stock, chicken or veg

How to Make Gumbo chicken, for 2

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Gumbo chicken, for 2 in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Chop the bacon and chicken thighs into chunks, and dry over a medium heat until browned.
  • Step 2
  • Chop the onion, celery sticks and garlic and add to the pan. Cook until softened.
  • Step 3
  • Sprinkle over the flour, and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
  • Step 4
  • Tip in the chopped tomatoes and stock, and add 1 tsp dried thyme and 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper and simmer, uncovered for about 20 mins.
  • Step 5
  • Chop the green beans and the kabanos sausage, and add to the pan. Simmer for another 10 mins.
  • Step 6
  • Serve with crusty bread.
