  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 5 tbsp rose water
  • 1/4 tsp safran

How to Make Halva

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Halva in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix safran and one tablespoon of sugar. Crush the sarfan into the sugar.
  • Step 2
  • Add 1/4 a cup of boiling water to the safran sugar mix. Mix well.
  • Step 3
  • Start to boil water in a pot.
  • Step 4
  • Meanwhile, put the flour in a pan on medium/high heat. Stir constantly.
  • Step 5
  • Once the water in the pot has boiled, add remaining sugar, sarfan mix, and rose water. Stir constantly until everything is thoroughly mixed. Then turn off heat.
  • Step 6
  • Once flour is golden in pan, add canola oil and mix well.
  • Step 7
  • VERY CAREFULLY add the pot mixture to the pan.
  • Step 8
  • Mix well and keep pan moving by giggling it around in the air.
  • Step 9
  • Once completely mixed, put on plant and flatten. Either serve hot, or cool it in the fridge and serve cooled.
