  • 250 g spiced ham cubed, cooked
  • 1 can mushrooms sliced
  • 3-4 strips bacon cooked and cut into small strips or bacon bits
  • 500 grams pasta noodles cooked as per instructions
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • to taste salt and pepper

How to Make Ham & Mushroom Pasta in Béchamel Sauce

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Ham & Mushroom Pasta in Béchamel Sauce in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat butter over medium-low heat until melted in a saucepan. Add the flour and stir until smooth. Over medium heat, cook until the mixture turns a light, golden sandy color, for about 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, heat the milk in a separate pan until just about to boil (low heat as it burns easily). Add the hot milk to the butter mixture 1 cup at a time, whisking continuously until very smooth. Bring to a boil. Cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Add cooked ham and mushrooms. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add cooked pasta and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Remove from heat. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Top with bacon bits/cut bacon and serve. Enjoy!
