  • 2 cup rice
  • 1/2 lb chicken breast
  • 1 can salsa
  • 1/2 packages cheese your choice
  • 1 pinch green onion
  • 1 can cream of chicken
  • pinch whatever you want! e.g. chow mein noodles, olives, onions, tomatoes, etc.
  • tbsp olive oil
  • tbsp ground black pepper
  • tsp paprika
  • pinch garlic powder

How to Make Hawaiian Haystack

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Hawaiian Haystack in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cook rice, keep separate.
  • Step 2
  • Put olive oil in pan, dice chicken, cook until browned
  • Step 3
  • Add cream of chicken to the pan of chicken and spices to your taste.
  • Step 4
  • Simmer all together and gather ingredients. Put rice as base and top with salsa, cheese, green onion, and anything you can think of that you like. This sounds gross, but everything works out and tastes great!
  • Step 5
  • Note: if you let the sauce sit, it will thicken. Mine in the picture looks watery because I instantly put it on my plate. I was hungry!
