  • 200 grams Boiled octopus
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1 Green onions
  • 1 White sesame seeds
  • Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp Fish sauce (or soy sauce)
  • 1/2 clove Grated garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp Sesame oil

How to Make Hawaiian Octopus Poke

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Hawaiian Octopus Poke in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Pit the avocado, peel and dice. Put the diced avocado into a bowl and mix with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to prevent discoloring.
  • Step 2
  • Cut the 1/4 onion in half, and slice thinly along the grain. If you don't like the harshness, soak the sliced onion in water.
  • Step 3
  • Cut up the octopus (whatever size you like). Put in a bowl and mix with the nam pla and garlic.
  • Step 4
  • Cut the tomato up roughly, and chop a generous amount of green onions. The octopus will have absorbed a lot of flavor by this time.
  • Step 5
  • Put the avocado, onion, tomato, green onions, sesame oil and white sesame seeds in a bowl and mix. Taste, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  • Step 6
  • Chill in the refrigerator. Once it's plated, you'll feel like you're in Hawaii.
