  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (or old fashioned oats)
  • 2 tbsp flax seed
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup raisins, dried cranberries, craisins, dried currants, or other dried fruit of choice such as cherries, blueberries, etc.
  • 4 dried apricots
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (not extract) (optional)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Healthy Oatmeal in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a small saucepan, combine water, oats, seeds, fruit and cinnamon.
  • Step 2
  • Stir to combine.
  • Step 3
  • Cook, covered, over very low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
  • Remove from the heat and let stand for 20 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Stir in the maple syrup, if using.
