  • 500 grams peeled hokaido squash (sweet potatoes would work too)
  • 500 grams chickpeas, canned and drained
  • 1 tbsp or two of flour plus more for rolling
  • 1 squeeze tomato paste
  • 1 salt, pepper, garlic and paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

How to Make Hokaido Squash Patties

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Hokaido Squash Patties in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put the squash in a food processor and blitz it up (or you can grate it). Transfer it to a big bowl
  • Step 2
  • Then, put chickpeas in the food processor and process until chickpeas reach almost like a hummus consistency. Add in flour and seasoning. Then transfer to the same bowl as the squash
  • Step 3
  • Mix it all well together. Next, flour your hands and roll the mixture into patties, then roll them in some flour. Put the patties on a tray lined with parchment paper
  • Step 4
  • Then, brush the patties with some olive oil on one side only and sprinkle with salt. Put the tray in an oven preheated to 220°C for about 15 minutes
  • Step 5
  • After 15 minutes, flip the patties and brush the dry side with olive oil. Put them in the oven for 15 additional minutes
  • Step 6
  • Serve warm. Enjoy :)
