  • 100 grams caster sugar
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda

How to Make Hokey Pokey

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Hokey Pokey in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Prepare parchment paper or grease a foil sheet.
  • Step 2
  • Put sugar and syrup into a saucepan and stir together.
  • Step 3
  • Once its on the heat you will not be able to mix it.
  • Step 4
  • Place pan on heat and let it melt on low for about 4-5 minutes until its all melted and Bubbling.
  • Step 5
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the bicarbonate soda. Colour will turn to maple syrup colour.
  • Step 6
  • Turn immediately onto the prepared sheet.
  • Step 7
  • Leave until its set then bash it to brake it into pieces.
  • Step 8
  • Tip: the sugar will stick to your pan and spoons, I normally fill with water and return to the stove top and boil it, the sugar should come of much easier then making it easier to clean.
