Ingredients: Homemade Fondue

  • 1 lb Gruyere cheese ( or ementhaler or a combination of both)
  • 1 3/4 cup Dry white wine
  • 1/2 clove Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Gin ( or kirsch if you have it available)
  • 3 tsp Corn starch
  • Ground nutmeg
  • Ground black pepper
  • Bread, for dipping

How to Make Homemade Fondue

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Homemade Fondue in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Grate all the cheese
  • Step 2
  • In a stove pot or directly on your fondue pot, heat the wine and slowly add the grated cheese, stirring constantly until it melts
  • Step 3
  • Mix the gin and corn starch together until dissolved, add to the pot. Optional: add the garlic clove
  • Step 4
  • Bring to boil and season with the nutmeg and the pepper.
  • Step 5
  • If not thick enough, add more corn starch/gin, otherwise add more wine.
  • Step 6
  • Serve with bread, or other dippers like grapes, apples, cherry tomatoes...
