Ingredients: Homemade Hummus

  • 16 oz garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 cup liquid from the can of garbanzo beans
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 clove garlic (crushed)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

How to Make Homemade Hummus

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Homemade Hummus in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • drain the garbanzo beans and set aside the liquid
  • Step 2
  • combine the remaining ingredients in a food processor
  • Step 3
  • add 1/4 cup of the garbanzo bean liquid
  • Step 4
  • blend for 3-5 minutes on low until it's mixed thoroughly and smooth
  • Step 5
  • place in a serving bowl and make a shallow dip in the center of the Hummus and add a small amount (about 1-2 tablespoons) of olive oil
  • Step 6
  • VARIATION: for a spicier hummus add a dash of Cayenne pepper
