  • 1 lb macaroni or pasta of your choice.
  • 6 tbsp Butter (separated)
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 3 cup Milk
  • 3 cup Grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mustard
  • 1/4 (1/8 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
  • 1/3 cup Dry bread crumbs

How to Make Homemade Macaroni & Cheese

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Homemade Macaroni & Cheese in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cook pasta.
  • Step 2
  • Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Slowly add milk whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Bring to boil low to medium heat.
  • Step 4
  • Add cheeses, salt, dry mustard and cayenne pepper. Heat until it bubbles. Mix in pasta.
  • Step 5
  • Spray an oven proof pan with Pam. Pour the macaroni and cheese into pan.
  • Step 6
  • Top with bread crumbs. Melt 2 tablespoons butter and pour over bread crumbs.
  • Step 7
  • Bake at 350 for 30 min. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
