  • 3/4-1 lb Top shoulder beef steak, sliced thin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Oregeno
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/3 c. Balsamic Vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Boar's Head Pub Style Horseradish Sauce (Horsey Sauce)
  • Arugula
  • 2 deli french bread loaves
  • 9 slices deli Regular Gouda Cheese
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1 medium onion

How to Make Horsey Steak Sandwich

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 19 steps you must follow to make Horsey Steak Sandwich in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Break out the steak. I usually buy mine in a slab. It's cheaper than the precut or diced beef. You would just be paying for the convenience, so save a bit ๐Ÿ‘. Evenly coat the steak in Balsamic Vinegar, onion pow, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and Tbsp olive oil. You may use more or less spices according to your taste.

  • Now put the steak in the fridge for about 20 minutes to absorb the spices.

  • Preheat oven to broil
  • Step 5
  • Thinly slice red pepper and onion
  • Step 6
  • Cut bread down to 6ish inch pieces. Saw the bread ALMOST all the way in half...AND not your finger ๐Ÿ˜ณโ˜๏ธ๐Ÿฅ. Lay the bread on a baking pan.

  • Step 8
  • Put about two tablespoons of Horsey Sauce ๐Ÿด on the inside top of the bread. You can put more or less, but you NEED to taste it, so put a decent amount! Giddy Up! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ
  • Step 9
  • Add three slices of Regular Gouda to each bread peice on top of the Horsey Sauce ๐Ÿด.
  • Step 10
  • * I say regular Gouda, because I am not too fond of smoked. And that is what I call for ๐Ÿ˜
  • Step 11
  • ** Gouda Cheese originates in Netherlands, it's my husbands favorite.
  • Step 12
  • When your meat is done marinating, take it out and cut it into bite size peices. Trim away any really fatty peices. This type of steak doesn't have much fat though.
  • Step 13
  • Heat up a frying pan on medium high.
  • Step 14
  • Put a Tbsp of olive oil in the pan and toss in onions and red pepper. Heat and stir one minute.
  • Step 15
  • Next toss the steak in with the peppers and onions. It only needs a very short time to cook. A minute and 30 seconds maybe, because you will also put it under the broiler. So, if it is still a little pink, it's ok. Just make sure all sides touch the heat by stirring continuously.
  • Step 16
  • Turn off the heat to the pan and quickly transfer steak, peppers, and onions onto the bread.
  • Step 17
  • Place pan in oven on MIDDLE rack. Set a timer for 1 minute and 20-30 seconds. Keep an eye on it, you want the cheese to melt and the bread NOT to burn.
  • Step 18
  • Next, take the sammies out of the oven and add a handful of Arugula. * The Arugula has such a yummie, spicey, radish like flavor of its own that goes so well with the Horsey Sauce ๐Ÿด. Don't skip it! **** If you want, you can put more sauce on it ! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿด๐ŸŽ ๐ŸŽ

  • Now, eat your sandwich! ๐Ÿด ๐Ÿ˜‹
