Ingredients: Hot Salsa

  • 7 lb Fresh tomatoes(approximately 22 medium)
  • 3 each Green peppers
  • 12 each Jalapeño peppers
  • 1 cup Chopped cilantro
  • 4 each Large sweet onions
  • 3 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1/2 cup Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tsp Minced garlic
  • 1 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 4 each Habanero peppers( if you like it really hot!)

How to Make Hot Salsa

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Hot Salsa in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Chop onions, cilantro, green peppers, jalepeno peppers, and the habanero peppers if you are adding them.
  • Step 2
  • Blanch the tomatoes in hot water( approximately 150 degrees) for 3 minutes. Transfer to a cold water bath.
  • Step 3
  • Core and peel the tomatoes and run them through a salsa strainer.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the strained tomatoes into a large pot and add all of the other ingredients.
  • Step 5
  • Stir well and bring to a boil. Transfer the mixture to jars while hot for sealing. Add lids and tighten bands firmly. Jars will seal as salsa cools.
  • Step 6
  • Makes approximately 12 pint jars.
