  • 1 cup thai red rice
  • 2 cup water (please don't use the soaking water!)
  • 1 tbsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp oil

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make How To Cook Thai Red Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put dry rice into a bowl and fill with tap water. Let soak for an hour
  • Step 2
  • Then, rinse rice and discard the soaking water
  • Step 3
  • In a pot, heat oil over high heat and add rice. Fry for a minute
  • Step 4
  • Then add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil (covered partially with a lid)
  • Step 5
  • Then add salt, cover and cook until rice is soft (it should take up to 45 minutes but mine took only 28) and all liquid is absorbed. If liquid is absorbed but rice isn't cooked, feel free to add more water
  • Step 6
  • Take off heat but keep covered for 10 minutes
  • Step 7
