Ingredients: Irish Chop Suey

  • 6 12 ounce bottles of guinness stout(beer)
  • 3 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 large yellow onion,chopped
  • 1 tbsp brown mustard
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 clove garlic,minced
  • 3 scallions,chopped both green and white parts
  • 1 1/2 lb 90% lean ground beef
  • 1 lb package wide egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 salt & pepper

How to Make Irish Chop Suey

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Irish Chop Suey in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • in large stockpot on medium high heat bring guinness to a boil ,once it boils add the egg noodles into it and cook them until al dente according to package
  • Step 2
  • when the noodles are ready drain the noodles but save 3 cups of the liquid and put to the side for later use(if you have to add extra water to get 3 cups)put noodles to the side
  • Step 3
  • in large deep skillet on medium high heat mix onion,garlic and ground beef, saute until brown (meat no longer pink) about 10 minutes or so
  • Step 4
  • then add the flour and stir to coat(what's in skillet )then stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, mustard and those 3 cups guinness you saved earlier cook for 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Step 5
  • now stir in the noodles and serve topped with both chopped white and green scallions and enjoy by:chef a.ladman
