  • 4 Large Potatoes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves chopped garlic
  • 200 ml milk
  • to taste Salt
  • 1.5 tsp Black pepper
  • to taste Italian herbs

How to Make Italian Mashed Potatoes

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Italian Mashed Potatoes in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Boil the potatoes with a pinch of salt and bay leafs to infuse the flavour.
  • Step 2
  • Peel the potatoes when done and chop them into fine pieces.
  • Step 3
  • Then melt the butter in a sauce pan and add chopped garlic to it.
  • Step 4
  • When the garlic gets goldenish, add 100ml milk to it.
  • Step 5
  • Now add the chopped potatoes and mix it with the milk and butter. Then mash the mixture using a potato masher or a spatula.
  • Step 6
  • When the mixture is mashed properly and thick in texture, add the remaining milk to it.
  • Step 7
  • Now add salt, pepper and the Italian herbs according to taste. Preferably1.5 teaspoon of pepper.
  • Step 8
  • Finally mix the ingredients well and give it a final mash. Add more milk according to the consistency you desire.
  • Step 9
  • Garnish with parsley and thyme.
