Ingredients: Italian-Style Oven-Baked Sardines

  • 5 Sardines
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 dash Pepper
  • 1 Salt and pepper ( for seasoning )
  • 1 Melting type cheese
  • 1 Panko

How to Make Italian-Style Oven-Baked Sardines

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Italian-Style Oven-Baked Sardines in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Remove the heads and guts from the sardines, (alternatively, ask the fish dealer to do this or buy them already prepped to save time).
  • Step 2
  • Put the sardines on a plate and lightly season with salt and pepper. (Season evenly inside the sardines as well.)
  • Step 3
  • Combine the minced tomato, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a baking dish and mix.
  • Step 4
  • Stuff the sardines with the vegetables. Line the bottom of the dish with a layer of vegetables, then place the sardines on top (as shown in the photo).
  • Step 5
  • Top with cheese, then panko, then evenly drizzle the olive oil over the panko.
  • Step 6
  • Bake in an oven (no need to preheat) set to 250℃ for 20 minutes and it's done!
